Realtime Writers Needed!

Are you a realtime writer looking for a challenging and rewarding work environment? Have you thought about providing CART services for hearing impaired students?

IR Broadcast Captioning provides Remote CART Services to students in university, college, high school and corporate settings. And we’re expanding! We have more clients coming on board in January so we’re looking now to get new writers in place to help us with the added volumes coming to our daily schedules.

What are we looking for?

  • Realtime capable writers – able to write 225 wpm with a minimum accuracy level of 98.5%
  • You have been providing realtime services in the legal field or CART environments for at least two years
  • Flexible schedule with work hours ranging from 07:00 to 00:00 ET
  • Have your own software with reliable high-speed Internet connection

You can expect interesting and rewarding work while working from home. Location does not matter. What is most important is the desire to provide the best services possible to our clients around North America.

How much you work is up to you, but the average number of hours per day is usually around five hours online.  Other time in your day is preparation or finalizing your files.

Accessibility for Travellers

No matter where we go, issues of accessibility exist for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Travelling seems to be an area where this can be especially difficult for people that have hearing impairments. Airlines have safety announcements, but most are verbal and visual and lack key points for someone that may not be able to hear. Some airlines do have their safety procedures on video and captioned, which is the basic minimum, we think.

Recently one of our team was in Vienna, Austria, and saw that they have captioning AND signing on their information screens for users! Way to go, Austria! North American transit systems could really learn from what is happening in Vienna and implement something similar for people on this continent. Check out the video on our YouTube Channel.

IR Broadcast Captioning provides a wealth of services to allow accessibility in different areas. Our core area of service is providing Remote CART Services for students in educational environments, such as university, college and high school. Other areas of services includes meetings for businesses, medical visits or even large conferences.  Learn more by visiting our Services Page and see how IR can assist you in a multitude of ways.
